Name: Workshop: Do Your Nonprofit’s Policies Need Updating?
    Date: November 8, 2018
    Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM MST
    Event Description:
Nonprofit policies guide the staff and board in ethical decision making, legal compliance, conflict resolution and creating a value-driven environment. Policies and procedures help to diminish liability and potentially harmful and costly situations. It is a common best practice for nonprofits to have board-related, personnel and financial policies and procedures, which should be reviewed and updated regularly. Come to learn which policies and procedures are essential for any nonprofit and to receive sample policies to guide you in the process. Participants will learn: • The role of board and staff in policy and procedure development. • Essential policies for boards, staff and fiscal management. • What makes a good (or bad) policy. • What are nonprofits greatest areas for liability and how policies can reduce risk.
