This three-hour workshop will introduce participants to core concepts in board governance and structure. Through discussion and hands-on activities, the group will learn about different ways to structure nonprofit boards, what they do, and how to build them. We'll also take a look at committees. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: - Describe the governance role of the board - Define board member roles and responsibilities - Describe at least three different governance structures --Summarize policies and procedures that every board should have in place Identify roles of board officers, including president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer - Describe at least two ways to structure committees
