The Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Silver City invite you to participate in events on Independence Day. Our theme this year is "Uncle Sam Wants You" to have fun during the Independence Day Celebration.
There will be a pancake breakfast in Gough Park. A parade through the streets of downtown Silver City will begin at 10:00 a.m. Kiwanis BBQ, along with many other food vendors will be in the park. You can get information, buy raffle tickets, and purchase all kinds of items at the vendor booths through-out the day. There will be live music on the stage at Gough Park for everyone to sit and enjoy. And since it is a political year, you will be able to meet with candidates for lots of local and state offices.
You will enjoy a variety of live music from Illusion Band throughout the day in Gough Park.
Then as the sun goes down, everyone will start finding the best places to watch the First American Bank - Silver City Annual Fireworks Show.
Independence Day will be held on Wednesday - July 4, 2018.
The celebration will be held on Wednesday - July 4, 2018. Activities in Gough Park begin about 7:00 a.m. and run through about 5:00 p.m. The fireworks will launch after it gets dark in the evening.
Location
Many of the events will take place at Gough Park in downtown Silver City. The oark is located at the corner of 12th Street and Pope. The parade will run the usual route of starting at Wells Fargo Bank, traveling south on Pope and Bullard Street. The parade will turn to the east on Broadway passing over the Big Ditch Bridge. Then it will tun back to the north on Hudson Street turning left on 11th Street and ending at Gough Park.
The fireworks will be shot from the hill behind the Grant County Administration Building off Highway 180 East in Silver City.
