October 2024 Chamber Luncheon
October 3, 2024, 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Grant County Veteran's Memorial Business and Conference Center
With our featured guest speakers Sheila Hudman, Santa Clara Village Administrator, and Raul S. Turrieta, Grant County Chief Deputy Assessor.


For 16 years, the Tamal Festival, originally hosted by the Green Chamber in Silver City, NM, has transitioned to Santa Clara, NM. This exciting move was made possible by event founders, like Cissy McAndrew, Leann Blystone, Linda Larson, who proudly passed the "Chancla" to Santa Clara to continue this tradition-packed celebration of 7 years. 

Sheila and Raul will discuss the transition of events and highlight new activities added to this year's festival, including:

• The Red-Hot Tamale Classic Disc Golf Tournament, coordinated by Jerry Boswell.
• The Cornhole Tournament, organized by Trustee Olga Amador.
• Centennial events for the Gila National Forest in the old Ft. Theater.
• The first-ever Chancla Toss Competition, where participants can test their accuracy and distance skills.
• Music from local musicians, mariachis, and folclorico dances and more!
