Funky, folksy The Bus Tapes to Perform at Mimbres Region Arts Council’s Folk Series at The Buckhorn Opera House Saturday, April 20, 2019 The Mimbres Region Arts Council, in conjunction with premier sponsor Cissy McAndrew/United County Mimbres Realty, lodging sponsor Holiday Inn Express, and Gila Mimbres Community Radio, announces the fourth and final concert for the 2018-19 Indie Folk Series. The Bus Tapes take the stage Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 pm at the Buckhorn Opera House, in the scenic mountain town of Pinos Altos- just a 10-minute drive from Silver City. Hailing from Santa Fe, N.M., The Bus Tapes are a “fresh and funky” band comprised of husband and wife duo Heather Tanner on vocals and guitar, Case Tanner on bass. Playing together for over a decade, they combine original songs and covers of fan favorites to create eclectic folk rock sets with a blues and jazz-inspired twist. The Bus Tapes have won two New Mexico Music Awards—the first in 2012 for “Best Novelty/ Humorous Song” and the second in 2013 for “Best Pop Song.” A rhythmic, acoustic feel on top of relatable song writing is the leading tone behind their collaborative music. Folks enjoy their interactive, friendly show, and appreciate the varying types of music – The Bus Tapes mix it up. One tune might be a funky R&B cover, the next a happy folk song, and the one after that a down-beat ballad Don’t miss out on the chance to hear The Bus Tapes at the historic and intimate Buckhorn Opera House. Doors open at 7:00 pm and the performance begins at 7:30 pm. For more information on The Bus Tapes and to listen to their music please visit: https://thebustapesband.com/about.
