The Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce would like to invite you to this month's chamber luncheon. Chamber Lunch Meeting- New Mexico Workforce Connection
Please join us for our monthly chamber luncheon on Tuesday, May 2nd at the Grant County Veterans Memorial Business and Conference Center. Featured guest speaker this month will be the New Mexico Workforce Connection. The New Mexico Workforce Connection focuses on identifying the needs and opportunities of a workforce and guiding the development of training programs and services to meet those needs. The New Mexico Workforce Connection partners with the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA is an employment and training program funded by the United States Department of Labor to help dislocated workers and other eligible adults access the tools they need to manage their careers. This program helps provide information and high-quality services to job seekers as well as assist companies in finding skilled workers.
During the luncheon, the New Mexico Workforce Connection will be discussing information about employer benefit programs that are beneficial to both employers and job seekers. These programs include on the job training, transitional jobs, customized training, and tuition assistance. All programs and services are at no cost to the employer or participant. There will also be a WIOA Youth Services Program Supervisor who will present on youth services.
Lunch will be catered by Mi Casita. The fee for the luncheon is $15.00 per person.
