Hardback and trade paperback books are priced at $1.00 each and paperbacks at $0.50 each. In some cases, books may be priced higher. Weather permitting, clearance item sales take place in the FOL parking lot where visitors can purchase a bag of books (special bags are provided in the parking lot) at $2.00 per bag. “Inside the Bookstore are many new treasures,” said the spokesperson for the Friends of the Library. “Come start your holiday shopping with us. A book is one of the most personal gifts you can give someone close to you because it shows that you have spent time thinking about what he or she is most interested in. The gift of a book, especially a used book, is a symbol of giving forward—it can be shared with friends and with generations to come.” Inside the Bookstore, the following will be featured at the November sale: • All 12 Poldark books by Winston Graham that are the basis of the Poldark Series on Masterpiece (PBS). • Around the World in 125 years – by National Geographic. Over 1400 Legendary Photographs, Adventures, and Discoveries – 3 volumes, hardback, brand new still in plastic covers • Highly desirable & collectible magazines about President and Mrs. Kennedy published in 1963, 64, 65, 67, 95 commemorative, and 50th anniversary special edition. • A large collection of beautiful Art and Photography Books • A large collection of books about Russia (e.g. history, architecture, geography) • 1st Edition Collectibles, Special Features of Rare / Collectible books, Books ‘signed by author” • Books by Local and Regional Authors / Poets • A large display of Music Books – Books about music and musicians, actual music books and sheet music for singing, instruments, hymnals, and more • A large collection of cookbooks, including specialty cooking • A new shelf - Faith Based Fiction (e.g. Christian, Amish) • More new arrivals of large “coffee table books”. • Foreign language books - multiple languages – learn to speak, dictionaries, books written in the language • Several Great Courses • Music CD’s, DVD’s, Audio Books on CD • An entire room dedicated to books for youth--from babies to teenagers • A sale featuring romance and large print hardbacks and paperbacks Weather permitting, the Parking Lot clearance sale will offer visitors hundreds of hardback & paperback books--fiction & non-fiction, reference, as well as audio books on cassette, VHS movies, magazines. ? The Friends of the Library accepts donations of books from the public and uses these to raise funds to support the Silver City Library’s programs and activities. Donations can be placed in the Friends of the Library donation bins outside the Silver City Library main door. These are located to the right of the Library’s bin for returning Library books.
