The October meeting of the Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce will be held on Thursday - October 5, 2017 in the Sunset Room of the Western New Mexico University Student Cafeteria. The cost is $15.00 per person which includes a full lunch with dessert and drink.

"Small Business Information Technology in Grant County"
The current state of Internet services, telephony, computer hardware, software and malware. Presented by Steve Chiang, co-founder of Techserviceondemand LLC, an information technology company based in Mimbres, and author of 'Organic Bytes' - a technology commentary column for the Desert Exposure
With a highly successful technology career spanning over three decades, Steve obtained his first Internet email address in 1977 and was part of the engineering team that developed and deployed the world first networked Automatic Teller Machine(ATM). During his Silicon Valley years, Steve was a founding member of a number of successful startups and was part of a team that raised over $2 million of seed capital for a networking startup in the mid 1980s.
Steve has a BA in Pure Mathematics from San Jose State University and a MS in Computer Science from University of Santa Clara, both in the San Francisco Bay Area. Co-founder Martha has a JD from Stanford University.
"PNM Century of Service Grant Recipients"
Bruce Ashburn, Community Manager with PNM, will announce New Century of Service Grant Recipients. The grants come frfom the PNM Resources Foundation.
62 grants totaling $750,000 were awarded recently to New Mexico nonprofits. Designed to promote economic development and education within the PNM service territory, the grants were awarded to organizations that work to innovate, create collaborative community spaces for public use and provide educational opportunities that support economic development.
