The Grant County Art Guild Gallery at the historic Hearst Church in Pinos Altos will open on April 27 and feature an artist reception, beginning at 5:30, for the annual Members Only Show. There will also be live music provided by local favorite, Brandon Perrault, and refreshments for your enjoyment. This seasonal gallery will be open Friday through Sunday and major holidays, 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. through October 7.

Call to Artists Red Dot Studio Tour and Gallery Walk<br /> Silver City and Grant County, New Mexico<br /> We are seeking studio* artists who would like to participate in the Second Annual Studio Tour on October 5th and 6th from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.<br /> The purposes of the tour are:<br /> &#61623; To assist artists in Silver City and Grant County in marketing their work<br /> &#61623; To increase awareness of the quality and diversity created in our community<br /> &#61623; To promote educational experiences for the attendees as they meet the working artists.<br /> The event is open to all studio artists living in Silver City and Grant County who are members of Silver City Gallery/Studio Association.<br /> Seventy-five ($75.00), payable by 04/01/2012, entitles the artist to the following:<br /> &#61623; A full year’s, (ending each February), presence on the SCGA/SA website which includes six(6) images, a description of the art, contact information, and a link to the artist’s website, if available.<br /> &#61623; The possibility to participate in the annual studio tour.<br /> &#61623; Inclusion in the on-going advertising done by SCGA/SA.<br /> There will be a limit of 25 studios with the 16 returning studios having the right of first refusal. All participating studios will be required to serve on at least one organizing committee.<br /> *A studio is the artists dedicated work space. This can be a room in the house, or a separate, free-standing building where the artist will be able to display the art, discuss their process, and/or demonstrate their technique. Shakespeare Ghost Town Guided Tour
Shakespeare Ghost Town is the remains of a pioneer southwestern town. From a small settlement on the stage and emigrant trail to California, it grew in 1870 with a silver strike and the diamond swindle to a town of considerable size under the name of Ralston City, or the Burro Mines. In 1879, mine promoters changed the name to Shakespeare and prospered until the 1893 depression. The town has been owned since 1935 by the Hill family and they have tried to preserve the old buildings and history without commercializing the place. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /> A guided tour of the buildings takes 1 1/2 hours. Admission fee is $4 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 through 17. Tours are at 10 am and 2 pm
