A Healthy Place to Live and Work

For more than a decade, Silver City and Grant County have been hailed as among the most healthful places to live, work and retire. Listings in Norman Crampton's "50 Healthiest Places to Live and Retire in the United States" and other guides reflect our balance of ideal climate, relaxed atmosphere, opportunities for outdoor exercise, and community healthcare resources.

Silver City and Grant County are home to a number of alternative healthcare resources and practitioners, including the New Mexico College of Natural Healing, whose mission is "to encourage and enhance your personal growth and healing process. The guiding principle of the College is to balance emotions and intellect in the feeling body." The college offers an 830-hour massage therapy program and a 600-hour herbal medicine program. Businesses and professionals throughout the county offer a range of herbal, homeopathic and massage therapies, as well.
