The communities of Grant County sit nestled in high desert and arid mountain
landscapes, where rain and snow are welcome — but not especially
commonplace — visitors. For your vacation planning, this means
you can't really pick a bad season to visit!
Precipitation patterns vary throughout the county and are dramatically influenced by our mountainous terrain. Rain in one valley may adjoin bright sun a mile or two away.
Please remember that water
is a precious resource in our communities, and help us preserve it and
our beautiful environment when you visit.
Please note:
When rains do fall in Grant County, they can fall in a hurry. Exercise caution when traveling in the county during rain showers, and avoid low-water crossings and dry streams when rains may occur.
