WNMU ¡Fiesta Latina! is a cultural event organized by Western New Mexico University to recognize, celebrate and assist in the preservation of New Mexico’s connection with its Mexican heritage, customs and traditions. The four-day outdoor festival on the beautiful WNMU campus in Silver City features Latin music and dance performances, food and drink, traditional children’s activities, crafting workshops and demonstrations, and a juried artisan mercado, featuring the traditional folk-art of more than 35 artisans from throughout Mexico. This year’s performers at WNMU ¡Fiesta Latina! include Mariachi Estrella de Mexico (6/15), Villalobos Brothers (6/16), El Javi, LADAMA, Jerry Dean, and Gonzalo (6/17). Food trucks and the Stadium Bar will be open throughout the weekend. For tickets and more information, please visit: fiestalatina.org or call (575)538-6469.
