Mimbres Region Arts Council Presents Guitar Slim Performing for the Inaugural Silver City Blues Society Benefit Dance
The inaugural Silver City Blues Society Benefit Dance with Silver City favorite, Guitar Slim will take place at the Old Elks Lodge, 315 N. Texas Street, Silver City, NM, Friday, April 1, from 7:30p – 11:00p. Guitar Slim, (Pat Chase) grew up in the heart of the Bay Area in the sixties and seventies when the blues were experiencing a huge explosion, putting him in the front row of live shows by such greats as Albert King, Otis Rush, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Charlie Musselwhite. He has backed up and/or toured with John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, Brownie McGhee, Charles Brown, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells.Tickets are $20.00 and will include an Inaugural Membership in the Silver City Blues Society. Vicki’s Eatery is co-sponsoring this event. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar.
