Are you ready to set yourself a writing challenge for the month of November? Then you may be interested in National Novel Writing Month (also known as NaNoWriMo), a time period when tens of thousands of people worldwide challenge themselves to produce a work of fiction. Anyone age 13 and older can register at http://nanowrimo.org and aim for a 50,000-word novel by the end of November. Youth age 17 and younger can register at http://ywp.nanowrimo.org and set their own challenge. Networking with other aspiring novelists online and in-person, sharing your struggles and triumphs, is key to the journey. If this idea intrigues you, stop by the orientation session at the library to learn more.
