The Mimbres Region Arts Council, in conjunction with premier sponsor Cissy McAndrew/United County Mimbres Realty, announces the 2016-17 season’s last Indie/Folk concert. The Harmaleighs take the stage Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Buckhorn Opera House, in the scenic mountain town of Pinos Altos- just a 10-minute drive from Silver City. The Mimbres Regional Art Council Indie/Folk Series showcases unique and emerging talent that reflects the ever-expanding boundaries of the “Folk” genre.
The Harmaleighs, from Nashville, Tennessee is composed of Haley Grant (guitar/vocals) and Kaylee Jasperson (bass/vocals). Since the duo came together in early 2013, their sound has transformed from an Americana cadence into a unique indie pop/folk fusion. Their anecdotal lyrics are sung through intimately blended harmonies on top of dynamic melodies and bluesy guitar riffs. Hearing The Harmaleighs is like seeing old friends and recounting stories—comfortable and relatable with a healthy dose of witty banter. Their first EP 'People Line Up' was released August 6th, 2013. With this album, The Harmaleighs concocted a unique recipe filled with sweet rhythms, dark chocolate lyrics, spicy banjo licks, and finished off with rich velvety harmonies. Don’t miss out on the chance to hear The Harmaleighs at the historic and intimate Buckhorn Opera House.
