The Gila Native Plant Society will conduct a field trip, led by Hanna Blood, to Cherry Creek in the Pinos Altos Range. This is a moderate hike – little elevation gain but some dry stream crossings. Even in this hot period, the moisture near the creek bed should support some interesting riparian plants - and it will be green, shady and relatively cool. However, we are in fire season, so bear in mind that the destination may change. All those interested in participating should meet a little before 8 a.m. in the south parking lot of the Fine Arts Center Theatre on the WNMU campus for carpooling. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and a hat and bring plenty of water. For further information contact hannablood@gmail.com.
