Backyard Hummingbird FestivalComing in July, 2009:

Learn more about hummingbirds as ornithologists band and study them at locales at and near Lake Roberts.

This year’sprogramming will include guided walks, educational programs onhummingbirds as well as area birds, bats, local geology, native plantsand Native American history.

Work created by local artists will be available to purchase as well aslocal authors that will be their offering recently released books forsale. Baked goods and Native American food will also be availablethroughout the festivities.

Walks will be limited to 10 people each. Registration for the guidedwalks are recommended and may be done by contacting Joan through theHBNM web site, telephone or the mail.

Guided walks are offered in:
  • Canyon Bird Walk
  • Lake Bird Walk
  • Geology of thearea
  • Native Plant Walk (Saturday only)
