The Sixth Annual Red Paint PowWow is a competition among Native Americans from across the continent, held in memory and recognition of the Chihene Apache who lived ? and continue to live ? in Southwestern New Mexico.
Traditional dancers compete for prizes in a number of categories, accompanied by native drummers and singers. Doors open at 9 am daily, and Native American handmade products are available inside the arena and outside throughout the powwow.
Friday:
Opens at 9 am -Indian Market & Performers. Free admission - Donations welcome.
Saturday:
Opens at 9 am - Indian Market
Gourd Dancing - 11 am & 5:30 pm
Grand Entries - 1 pm & 7:30 pm
Closing - 11 pm
Sunday:
Opens at 9 am - Indian Market
Gourd Dancing - 11 am
Grand Entry - 1 pm
Award & Closing - 6 pm
