As the growing season draws to a close in October, residents of the Mimbres Valley will be coming together to celebrate their life in the valley, inviting everyone to their second annual Mimbres Valley Harvest Festival, Saturday, October 13th, 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m.
A day-long hoe down, when farmers put down their hoes for the season, is planned with valley growers, storytellers, musicians and craftspeople coming together to share their love of the Mimbres at the San Lorenzo Elementary School. Bar-B-Q and homemade ice cream is on the menu. Bring your entry to The Best Tasting Apple Pie Contest, to be judged by a most distinguished panel of judges.

MVHAL organized the first annual Mimbres Valley Harvest Festival held October 14, 2006 at the San Lorenzo Elementary School. This event incorporated local farmers, ranchers, artisans, churches, schools, and many volunteers from the rural Mimbres Valley community. This event brought the Mimbres Valley community together with community-enriching activities that offered education and resources that are available in our local environment. We focused on local agriculture with the presence of local farmers, ranchers and health experts. Economic development was demonstrated through the selling of local products grown within Grant County. Children's activities focused on fitness. Local musicians provided music along with local storytellers from the Mimbres Valley telling of the Valley's heritage past and present. [ Get Directions ]
