Western New Mexico University is situated at the heart of Silver City and central to Grant County: with a range of associate, bachelor and graduate degree programs and non-degree study options, WNMU anchors the community's commitment to lifelong education.

Grant County is small and rural: not more than 35,000 people live in the county and most of our towns would be considered small in many states.

Despite our small size — or perhaps because of it — Silver City and Grant County have developed an extremely broad assortment of community resources to meet our residents' healthcare, educational, informational and social needs.

Whether your business is looking for blazingly fast Internet access — even widespread wireless access — or you'd just like to find a civic group to fill in a few hours a month, we can help.

When you need healthcare of any kind, from birth to healthy adulthood, Grant County is especially well equipped, with a large, well-staffed regional medical center and with numberous healthcare providers and clinics. And our community is also a community of churches and other congregations, totaling more than 50 places of worship in our county.
